Google, where do I sell my mobile phone in Ireland? Semantic Search explained

Semantic searches are the thing these days!  More and more people are using their mobile phones’ text to speech function to do searches for them.   Interestingly this means that the old days of summarising things into keywords, like ‘sell mobile Ireland’, are starting to fade change, and now sites need to be written on a more conversational basis, such as ‘who do I sell or recycle my mobile phone with for the most money’

So, while at the start ‘speech-to-text’ wasnt exactly great at workign out what Irish accents mean…it is becoming more accurate even with the vaguely incomprehensible Cork Accent.   Although I would like to know what percentage of ‘speech to text’ requests end with the works ‘ah for f%ck5 sake!’….or other 4 letter metaphors!

So, GreenYourGoods is trying to get ourselves tuned into what our friends at Google are expecting and trying to make your life easier – but to keep it simple – just bookmark gyg.ie the next timeyou want to sell or recycle your mobile phones –  we pay the most, we are the friendliest AND most trusted Irish site.As we’ve said before, Envirofone.ie, Fonebank.ie and Cash4fones.ie aint Irish sites!

Here is an interesting link to a site that has out-boffined google even.  ThisPlusThat captures the relationships between words. This goes far beyond sentiment analysis, or parts-of-speech tagging — words, products, and locations are learned from context. Go ahead and try any person, place, or thing +/- some trait. You can average two people. Curious what Bill Gates is like without Microsoft?…http://www.thisplusthat.me/
